Event Changeups
- With the new expansion, we expect people to be more focused on progression-type stuff: leveling toons, gearing, working on Garrisons etc. Many of our events are not focused on progression, so we'll be putting them on hiatus for a bit until things settle down.
- We pitched a lot of ideas at the last meeting for events, most of them revamping old ones, and tested them since the last meeting. We've had mixed results, and less favorable ones then we'd like. As such we'd like to address this in the interim before we roll out regular events come January. We ask each of you to post your thoughts on the Revamping Events thread of the forums. What events would you like to see? Which ones don't interest you? etc.
- What events we do post in this interim period will be more focused on Draenor content and progression minded: getting the raid team set up, setting up pvp events, hunting down world treasures, guild dungeon/scenario groups.
December Meeting?
RP/Lore Run
Raiding
PvP
Server Fashion Shows
Contests
Guild Challenges & Promotions
- Given the upcoming holiday season and people being focused on personal goals, we doubt there'll be much need to hold a guild meeting in December, so we may just skip ahead to January's.
RP/Lore Run
- We struggled to get the first event going with no success, but with much badgering, the second event did happen and quite successfully with people really enjoying it. However, most participants were reluctant to get into rp, so we'll be looking to focus this more on the lore aspect in the future.
- The event series is meant to go in sequence, so there'll be a brief return to Naxx to properly cover Kel'Thuzad before moving on to smaller raids like Eye of Eternity and Obsidian Sanctum.
Raiding
- We will be focusing on getting the Heroic team set up first and aiming for the first week after Thanksgiving.
- The Normal team is slated to start up early in the new year.
- If you're interested in getting into raiding, check out the raid sub-forum for information on how to join and the current status of the heroic team.
PvP
- We've accumulated a fair amount of pvpers recently and seen a return of some of older members, enough to put in earnest attempts to get events going.
- Dashiea and Loala are spearheading these efforts, so talk to them if you're interested.
- It's a new pvp season starting, so now's the time to get in on the action.
Server Fashion Shows
- Stealthstar, who runs the events, will be on hiatus for the holidays. When he returns, there will be 2 shows in January, one for beginners into transmog, and one for experienced moggers.
- Since we are the main sponsors of the events, we've been able to set the theme for the next show - Superheroes. Thank you Axelhok for the idea. You do not need to mimic an existing hero, you can create any ensemble which looks like a superhero would wear. If you need inspiration google image search "warcraft superhero transmog."
- We will post additional rewards for guild members who participate in these shows. We will also try to set up a workshop or two in advance to help people with creating transmog outfits.
Contests
- The Ugly Transmog contest resolved at Halloween with Unsu and Therakmore tied for first place. Check out the entries for all the awesome horrible ensembles people put together.
- Our new contest - Warlords Craft Drive - begins on Thursday and will last till January's guild meeting. The goal is to support our crafters in the early stage of the expansion and in return they can help us. First place prize will be a Grand Expedition Mammoth with even more prizes to be unlocked. Check out the forum section for the full details.
- As a consequence of the management needed for this contest, Mira will be giving me GM-ship for the duration of the contest. This does not imply any change of power between us or in the guild, it is a temporary measure for practicalities only.
Guild Challenges & Promotions
- One of the ideas we put forward last month was to offer members a share of the guild's gold rewards for completing guild challenges. Unfortunately patch 6.0 removed the scenario challenges, leaving only dungeon challenges really, not enough to make anything of. So we're scrapping that idea in favor of...
- We'll be testing out this idea over the next few months, that is giving gold rewards to members who earn promotions in the guild. We're in a state of regrowing the guild right now and we want to incenitivize people making themselves more at home in the guild. Initiates earn a 1k bonus for reaching Member, while Members get a 2k bonus for reaching Veteran status. Once again, thank you to Axelhavok for the idea.
- If you're unsure how to go about earning rank within the guild, refer to the Ranks and Structure Explained thread.
- Which brings us to our first beneficiary: Dashiea earning the rank of Member.
