*We hit our 1 year anniversary recently and in light of recent events, it was time to update this to better reflect who we are and who we've become as a guild.*
Vol'jin's Vengeance's goal is to facilitate and coordinate group activities that are of interest to its community. We seek to accommodate players from all walks of life from the purely social and casual to the mildly serious and hardcore. We defy the classification that a guild must be purely social that accomplishes nothing as well as the idea of a hardcore raid guild that ignores all non-raiders. We define ourselves by what we do, who we do it with and that we have fun doing it. Each of us defines fun differently and so we seek to maintain avenues of opportunity and activity for people at whatever their commitment or skill level. We don't believe in leaving people behind either, so workshops will periodically be available covering a variety of topics (and by request) to help players improve and reach their personal goals, but there is never a restriction on asking for help outside of those times.
We believe that a community must always be growing-- friends come and go, real life takes priority over game -- so we grow not only to survive but thrive. The most important part of this is the act of welcoming new members and making them feel like they are part of a community. A part of any community are the values it holds to and looks to instill in its members. We value Enthusiasm, Helpfulness and Friendliness. We will do our best to inspire in each of you those values, and if we do our job right, they will be things you want to do, not have to do.
Our strength is in an active and enthusiastic community that has the freedom to be proactive. The leadership will do its best to provide activities for its members but strongly encourages members to step up and take the initiative if they wish to see something new offered within the guild (all members have the ability to create guild events for this purpose). We believe the guild thrives or fails based on its members and that the experience received is as good as the effort put forth by each individual. As the guild does for its members, we ask for its members to do for each other and for the guild. Reciprocation is the momentum that makes any effort easy.
We are dedicated to the belief that a guild is defined and owned by its community. As your GMs, we wish to maintain open communication and a free flow of information with our members. We encourage members to express their concerns directly to the GMs or an Officer who can bring their case forward. If and when problems arise, we aim to maintain a mature environment that will handle these situations in a responsible and timely way as well as be responsive to the needs of the community. Lastly, our commitment is to continuinally improve and refine the guild. Every month, we look for ways to do things better and report to you at guild meetings with updates about events, new initiatives and sometimes discussions about important matters affecting the guild.
We hope you enjoy your time with us, both old friends and new. :] <3
