Eriu's party comment got me thinking I've got some fun recipes I'd throw at people if we had a party. I've shared one or two in the past, and I know we've had a few people who have their own they'd be willing to share. So let's hear it, favorite drinks. It must be a drink you can make yourself and please include the recipe so the rest of us can try. This is one I concocted a few years ago as an experiment. Stiff Breeze (So named by a friend who said it reminded him of a Tropical Breeze but a lot stronger) Single Serving 4 Oz Banana Nectar (Looza Brand - unfortunately difficult to find) www.looza.be/#/EN/products/glas1l/banana/ 4 Oz Pineapple Juice 2 Oz Orange Juice 3 Oz Coconut Rum 3 Oz Triple Sec 2 Oz Vodka 2-liter Bottle (Scaled up recipe) 15 oz Banana Nectar (Looza Brand) 15 oz Pineapple Juice 8 oz Orange Juice 12 Oz Coconut Rum 12 Oz Triple Sec 8 Oz Vodka

Ok, no one responded, but you're getting another recipe anyway. This one is a summer specialty.
Ultimate Lemonade 1 oz Citron Absolut 1 oz Bacardi Limon 1 oz Tequila 4 oz Fresh Lemonade
Lemonade 10 Lemons - Juiced 2 Cups Sugar 7 Cups Water Combine 2 Cups of Water with 2 Cups of Sugar, bring to a boil to make a simple syrup. Add in the rest of the Water and Lemon Juice. Chill.

Not much of a mixed drinks person myself so I'll throw out a few of my favorite beers:
Hoegaarden wheat beer Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse Blue Moon and/or Shock Top Sam Adams (seasonal ones are a lot better than just like Boston Lager in my opinion) Guinness (best on tap. Also Black & Tan - half Guinness and half Sierra Nevada) And everyone has their favorite cheap light beer, mine being Coors Light

I've never really made myself mixed drinks, if you can believe it. But the rum I mentioned I thought I'd put up here for future reference. It's called Ron Zacapa (Solera Gran Reserva). I'm trying to remember if I've ever had any mixed drinks that I really loved. I like the non-frozen version of margueritas pretty well at several local restaurants and dirty martinis at some places. Oh, I know. That thing with champagne and kirsch! What's that called? A Kir Royale? Sorry I'm not sure if I am remembering the name correctly but I really like that. I suppose a self-proclaimed foodie ought to know mixed drinks a little, huh? I rarely drink. So, I'm a real light weight when I do. Not much room for experimentation there

It is time once more for a new seasonal drink mix. While this one works fine all year round, I think it is best for Halloween. I got this one from a restaurant I don't go to often enough.
Cajun Swamp Water
1 oz Bacardi Limon 1 oz Raspberry Absolut ½ oz Chambord ½ oz Blue Curacao Splash Sour Mix 5 oz Cranberry Juice

This is my first creation in alcohol mixing and I consider a holiday favorite. It's pretty sweet but packs a hell of a punch. I used Martinelli's brand mulling spices for this and found when I tried doing my own with whole spices last year it really threw off the taste, so be mindful the flavor may need some rebalancing if you deviate. Tatoo is pretty difficult to find these days, so regular rum works just fine I've found.
Apple Cider
Ingredients:
½ Gallon Apple Cider
Mulling Spices
¼ Cup Molasses
1 Tbl Vanilla Extract
¾ Cup Vanilla Syrup
12 Oz Captain Morgan Tatoo Rum
8 Oz Cointreau
8 Oz Southern Comfort
8 Oz Triple Sec
Directions:
Add Apple Cider and Mulling Spices to a pot and bring to a boil, simmer for several minutes according to directions for mulling spices. Remove from heat and stir in the Molasses, Vanilla Extract and Syrup. Allow to cool for one hour and stir in All Alcohol. Serve chilled.
