Christmas approaches, so it is time to share this drink recipe. You can easily double the amount of Bourbon in the recipe as it really adds sweetness and it's hardly even a noticeable amount of alcohol. While this drink tastes quite light, especially when compared to store bought stuff which is like drinking custard, that will change rapidly after about 16 ounces.
Eggnog
Ingredients: 1/3 Cup Sugar + 1 Tbl Sugar 4 Eggs - separated 1 Cup Heavy Cream 2 Cups Milk 1 Tea Nutmeg 3 oz Bourbon
Directions:
Mix the Egg Yolks until they reach a ribbon stage. Add 1/3 Cup Sugar and continue to mix. Incorporate the Heavy Cream, Milk Nutmeg and Bourbon, mix to combine.
Clean the mixer and in a separate bowl, beat the Egg Whites until they reach a soft peaks stage. Slowly add 1 Tbl Sugar and continue to beat until they reach stiff peaks.
Pour the Egg/Cream mixture into the Egg White foam and mix to combine.
Notes:
Can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Mix after removing storage as the cream and foam will separate after a few hours. (In theory that works fine, but I've found it difficult to reincorporate once it begins to separate)
