The highlights from the 4th meeting:
Monthly Contest: The winner of our third contest, Design a Contest, was Marcii. She will receieve a crafted 502 Blacksmith weapon courtesy of Kiskeya.
Our next contest is our annual Halloween/Transmog contest. Details are in the Contests section. We will be holding a Transmog workshop for any who want help, pointers or a starting point to the topic and help with their submissions.
Guild Bank: GB usage has continued to be been up, we're glad this is useful.
We ask people to be mindful of contributions to the Valuables Tab with 5.4 showing a spike in new gear being available.
Look at the info tabs of the guild bank for notes on what items we need more or less of. This information will be crossed posted onto the forums.
Roleplay: Mira will be stepping into the role of Officer for these events and Viv will be taking the role of Jr. Officer assisting her.
We have completed talks with Divine Nobility, so we'll be having new people at rp events from their guild.
RP nights have formally moved to Wednesday.
Look for One-Shot events to lure in new people to rp designed as a first-time experience.
Pet Battles Tournaments: Yon will be stepping down as the Officer for this event and yielding her post to Zeenjan.
Pet Battle events have been formally moved to Tuesday nights.
Every other week will be a tournament for level 25 teams and on off weeks there will be Safaris to old raids for rare pet drops or just roaming the continents for harder to find pets to round out people's collections.
Raid Team: The Raid Team is progressing through Throne of Thunder and almost halfway done in 2 weeks. When we have completed that we may run it a few more times before moving on to Siege of Orgrimmar.
Plans for a Flex Raid Team are in the work but are wholly dependent upon participation by interested individuals to make up the numbers. We currently have more people interested in raiding then the current 10-man team can hold. While priority will be given to regulars, anyone else interested is asked to sign up for the events and be there on standby to help out and earn their place on the regular team. In time we hope to accommodate with the flex team.
If anyone is wondering what specs to level, we currently have an abundance of tanks and a sufficient number of healers, but are most in need of strong dps - an odd thing for a guild really.
For the sake of clarity, Ten will be acting as Jr. Officer to Warlin for this event and assisting him.
PvP: Eriu will be stepping up to fill the role of Officer for our PvP efforts. Contact him through whisper, in-gamed mail or on the forums if you're interested.
The first step will be to poll interest and select a daytime for events. Step 2 will be grinding out battlegrounds to gear people decently geared. The third step will be to field an arena team once suitably geared. Step 4 will be to work up to fielding a rated battleground team.
Old School Raid Night: We completed our slog through Ulduar shortly after the last meeting. We have since gone through Naxxramas, Trial of the Crusader, Onyxia and Ruby Sanctum. We have just started ICC which will take between 3-5 more weeks.
After we finish ICC, we will move on to all sorts of Cata raids for the next few months. Deathmight has recently joined us after a few month hiatus and will likely be taking charge of the events for the Cata raids.
Workshops: We are continuing to run Class Workshops every other Sunday evening for anyone who wants some help refining their character's performance. Whisper Ten if this day/time doesn't work for you or you don't want to wait for the event.
We are following up with a Transmog workshop this week, details below.
New Initiatives:
We've created a new rank, Jr. Officer, for the purposes of organizational clarity when we have multiple coordinators working together on an event. A list of all officers and their events will now be available in this section of the forums as a sticky note.
Ten (me) is offering a large bounty of gold for anyone who helps complete the Classy achievements for he guild to earn its 8th bank tab. See the Contest section for more details.
With a recent drain on guild bank funds, we'll be starting up weekly events to run Guild Challenges to raise money for the guild. We have the ability to earn several thousand gold a week in this way, which will be for the purposes of purchasing the 8th bank tab and later being funneled back into the guild covering contest prizes and raising everyone's daily gold allotment for repairs or withdrawals.
As the guild is experiencing explosive growth, now over 200 members in only 5 months, we worry the guild will begin to lose its focus on community as new members become mute faceless individuals. Our solution is to create the Buddy System, a purely volunteer effort on the part of members and veterans to actively reach out to new members and help them integrate into the guild better. If you are interested in this idea, please speak to Mira and ask to have your name added to the list. We will look to match new members with your interests. The goal is to help new members reach the rank of member - a designation that for us marks an individual as a part of the community by participating in events, chat conversations, contributing to group efforts or hooking other people up.
Promotions: Congratulations to Gheerion, Kaldra, Zakarn and Bazz on becoming full-fledged members. Look for veteran promotions starting soon as we near our 6 month mark.
This month's meeting, held in vent, was very successful with a large turnout and a short run-time of only an hour...as opposed to the 3 hour text-based ones we held in the past.
