New info gives insights into what to expect from crafting. Link is here. First off, we will have tier 5 crafted gear. We're moving on from Savage Blood to Fel Blood. No indication how we farm this yet, but I'm guessing it'll be new creatures we capture out in Tanaan Jungle. This tier of gear will be 705 for weapons and 710 for armor. So...hold on to any crafted gear you replace now, it'll be worth upgrading and using again in the new patch as it should greatly outgear anything gotten from heroic raids now. Tier 5 crafting will still use the same mats we've used all expac, so continue to stockpile those craft mats. Since people will still need to make tiers 1-4 crafted goods to make new tier 5s, Savage Blood will still be of value and worth holding on to. We're seeing a return of epic gem recipes which use a lot more taladite crystals and the new Fel Blood. No word if we'll see new enchants as well. I expect to see the current 125 single food buffs be made into feasts for the this patch.

More info.Less ability to farm Ashran for conquest points. Craft gear now has 2 upgrades, going up to tier 6, with the previously stated ilvls being the max. Condensed recipes for the prior tiers and the daily cd now awards more stuff to speed things up. The new recipes will be available from the Daily Traders.

Tip taken from Bellular; stockpile Barn Rush Orders before 6.2 hits and you can get really fast access to the new Fel Bloods to get your crafted stuff up and running in the first few days. Also, the new epic gems will require Fel Blood as well, these will be expensive and rare.

Some more patch notes. Link is here. Not much for class updates this time around, though the tier bonuses were altered. They finally elaborated on what these weekend events will be outside of the TimeWalker Dungeons. The other 4 pretty much boil down to bonus rewards for certain activities: pets get 25% more xp all weekend, earned 50% more honor all weekend etc. Crafted recipes are getting revised to account for the fact we're getting 2 new tiers of crafting. Some of the older recipes are having their mats halved. It may be worth it to stockpile mats and catch up on crafting or change up what crafted gear you want to use once 6.2 drops instead of doing it now.

The new Savage Blood mat - Fel Blood has been renamed Fel Blight and is no longer available from the Barn. So forget stockpiling rush orders for the moment. At current, all gather professions, including fishing, are what gathers this new material. We'll see if this change stays in place.
Also, tiers 2-4 upgrades for crafted gear will be getting cheaper to craft. If you have these upgrade tokens and have not used them, consider saving them as they will convert to the new item and refund the additional mats in 6.2. Additionally, our craft daily cds will produce even more mats to speed things up.

So weird that after taking the route that gathering professions don't really matter due to the way garrisons work, that they would force everyone back into gathering. I have not checked, but if you had a gathering at 700 and dropped it for a production profession, if you add it back, is it at 1 or at 700?

It'll be back at 1 and you need to re-level it. Fortunately, it's super easy to re-level Herbalism and Mining as you can do so purely through your garrison each daily without any loss of materials. Normally you have the reduced gains for low level, but your garrison circumvents that. This makes the re-leveling very incremental and easy to add into a daily routine. Also, if you haven't picked up the items that speed up mining/herbalism, now is a good time. The mining pick stacks with the normal mining pick bonus you get as a drop from the mine and it's near instantaneous. Skinners are SoL though as there's no shortcuts at all either to re-level or speed up the process of skinning.
Blizz didn't really think of the consequences of the barn or how powerful the garrison was, that's the only explanation I can think of. As such, we're going full-swing in the opposite direction trying to downplay those things. Though game designers are also taught to make bold changes and then make adjustments, which is fine during testing, but is a poor idea during implementation. The other issue going on is Blizz trying to work out the kinks of this new craft model. So they changed both sides of the equation - crafting and gathering, and you get an uneven result and they're still trying to figure out how to fix it. This will not be the last adjustment to this system.
Don't forget Fishing's role in this though. Fishing was poised to have a prominent role this expansion for alchemy with fish and meat factoring in as important components to recipes. Those recipes were altered very quickly through to be more reliant on herbs as those have very little use initially. Then we see a weak attempt to make fishing more prominent with the 125 cooking recipes. And once more, fishing can also gather the upcoming Fel Blight.

Was listening to Bellular's youtube channel the other day as he was discussing more details about Tanaan Jungle. The short of it, it's Timeless Isle ver 2.0
There'll be a daily quest to farm a few of the 50 rares in the zone. We'll have the same type of gear tokens that TI had, these'll be 655 and will be upgradeable to 670 I believe. These tokens will drop from rares, in addition to a chance at standard 650 gear. The upgrade since TI is that these tokens are upgradable after being used and revealing their stats, so no more crap shoots like last expac. These gear tokens will be able to cover all gear slots as well making it very easy to gear your alts. Apexis crystals will function like the Timeless Coins currency. There will not be a cap on accumulating them and you can buy these gear and upgrade tokens with them as well. The gear tokens will be account-bound, yay for gearing alts. There'll also be a mount purchasable for 150k apexis, like the old 100k coins for Shaohao mount. The zone will more or less be centered on Apexis mission areas. These new apexis missions will award more then the old ones and oil to fuel your salvage yard as well. Tanaan will be all about the grind.
Be on the lookout for those Mythic dungeons. They'll be on a weekly lockout for each one and the final boss will have a chance to drop 700 gear, great for the raiders.

Also, word is that testing is going very quickly for this patch, so we should expect it sooner then later. Estimates are placing before the end of June.

Raid gearing has some changes coming this patch. Later bosses will drop higher level gear and the secondary stats will have more gaps between them. Personal loot is getting revised to be better and more in line with group loot in payout. Link to dev discussion is here.
