We're now merged with Silverhand and Farstriders, and so server time is now Pacific instead of Central. All guild events will be keyed to that new time zone going forward.
Event Updates
Raid Team
- The 10-man team is now 10/14.
- We'll be experimenting with some new arrangements/models for raiding to better suit everyone's availabilities and skill levels. If you have thoughts on what you'd like to see, please talk to LightPenguin. If you cant catch him in game, you can readily each him through in-game mail or through private messages on the forums.
- We're adding a Guild LFR event to the calendar for this month. We figure most of us are running it anyway, it'll be a far more pleasant experience if we can do it together. For now we'll be running on Wednesday nights and trying to tackle all 4 wings of Siege and possibly more. Ten (me) will be available in vent for anyone who wants help learning the fights as we go. We'll also add a forum thread near the end of the month to solicit feedback on this new idea.
- Additionally, B runs Flex through open raid every week and has said he will happily take anyone with him and help them learn fights as well. Talk to him if you're interested to see when he will be going.
- Lastly, we'll be looking to up our standing on the server by clearing some old raids like Heart of Fear and Terrace of Endless Spring. First priority will be given to 10-man raiders and the back-up members, but an open event will be posted for anyone who wishes to fill in an open slot. We expect this to take 2-3 weeks, but we may entertain running heroic versions of the raids after.
Old School Raids
- We think we've hit burnout on Firelands and Dragon Soul after 5 months of farming. This Thursday will be the last run of these raids as a guild event for awhile. Manila may still set up impromptu events for these sporadically for anyone who still wants to farm stuff for anyone interested.
- We'll be returning to Ulduar first, since it's been long enough people may not be sick of it, to help gear up people looking to do Herald of the Titans, and for the absurd amount of achievements there.
- Our next stop will be to try out Mogu'shan Vaults for achievements as we feel there's enough gear to easily handle those fights.
- We've noticed some of guilds from our joined servers running these bosses and may look to join our efforts with theirs down the line if interest fades in this event.
PvP
- On Thursday, the guild, GodSpeed, from Silverhand, organized a For The Horde Achievement run and pulled it off without any problems. Apparently they do this a few times a year. We tried to organize our server into getting this off the ground a few months ago but got little interest. We've spoken with this guild and we'll get a few week's notice from them when they're doing it next so we can be part of the festivities. Good fun, achievements and a mount to win, not to mention embarrassing the Alliance.
The Buddy System
- As a reminder, this is our outreach program to help our initiates and new recruits to become full-fledged members of the guild and we're always looking for volunteers to help out with this. If you're interested, talk to Ten (me) or Mira for details and access to the super secret forums.
Workshops
- No new workshops planned for this month. If you've got a request for a topic you'd like to see covered or covered again, please let Ten (me) know and I'll set something up. Also, if you want to run your own workshop, let me know and i'll help promote it. Expect to see a Hearthstone workshop next month once I've had more time to toy with the game.
Roleplay
- We've had some requests to over rp over the weekends, so we'll be trying out this event on Sunday nights for this month to see if it works out better for people.
- We've pushed people to write backstories before as a way to promote stronger roleplay and give us things to play with for personal plot, well, now we're making that easier. If you're uncomfortable writing a backstory of some kind, talk to B or Mira with your ideas and character concept if conversation is easier and we can work with that.
Pet Battles
- We've really enjoyed the great turnout we've gotten for safaris over the last month.
- We'll be trying out an open server level 25 pet battle tournament in 2 weeks. Get your team ready.
- As a teaser, we'll be exploring the Pokemon angle of having Gym Leaders to compete against and earn badges for defeating so you can prove your mettle.
Hearthstone
- We've noticed a fair amount of players getting into the Hearthstone game and we're thinking it might be a fun idea to have some guild tournaments. We may impose some deck restrictions periodically to keep the game even for all players. right now we're seeding this to see if there's interest. If anyone is interested in organizing this event, talk to Ten (me), if not I'll try to make time to set it up next month.
Monthly Contest
- This month's contest winners for Design an in-game item are:
- Sword wins first place with his Thalen-Compass, winning 4 royal Satchels.
- Featherbloom wins second place (we added another winner because we had so many entries and some really awesome ones at that) with their Safari Leader Mount, winning 4 Frostweave Bags.
- Our newest contest will be centered on guild participation. We want you vying for our affection that we will happily shower upon a favored few, once you have defeated your competitors in savage combat.
- Members will compete as individuals earning points for various activities. As a guild, we are a community that does things together and for each other, this contest is all about that. See the Contests forum for details on how to earn points.
- We'll be running a Buddy Day event every Monday for the duration of this contest to provide you all with ample opportunities to do your things.
- For our initiates and members, this is a great way to earn your next rank within the guild.
- But rank alone is not enough, now we like to go bigger. Soooo...... First place prize will be a choice of the following mounts: Skygolem, Mechanohog, A Chromatic JC Mount (Blue, Red, Green, Yellow). Aaaand....your very own special guild rank, Friendship Gangsta.
- We just know you'll all be dying to join in on this contest that we expect to have more than one person worthy of our love and more prizes to give out. All runner-up winners will earn the Guild title, and we'll announce further prizes next month at the mid-contest mark.
