How to get people to participate more--pick and choose your strategies:
--Talk to them, get to know them as a person--this can be publicly or privately.
**If you do this remember what they tell you and be sure to follow up with this information later**
Example: If someone tells you they have to get their car fixed, ask them how the repairs went when you see them again!
---If you're already talking to someone, bring the newbie into the discussion!
Example: When we were all talking about music, with every new person that joined the conversation I would say "Hey, ___, we're talking about music! What do you listen to? :3"
And then I'd comment if we had any similar interests, or if they named someone I hadn't heard of (HAH, LIKE THAT WOULD EVER HAPPEN.)
---Vent is not substitute for Gchat. Gchat is the face we present to new members and discussion gives us the ability to engage initiates without forcing things. Vent is great, but we need to get them on the hook first.
Company for grinds, and group activities are great ways to get people to want to stick around.
---If you're going to do something in game and you notice a new person, ask if they want to go with you.
---Similarly, if a new person wants to do something, see if you can go with them.
--Guild Challenges are excellent for getting people to participate, and they also give back to the community in the form of gold!
***Especially scenarios, as they're also a great way to valor cap.****
--Power-leveling is awesome for our lower-level members, to help them get more comfortable with the community (since a lot of our events are high-level exclusive.)
You don't have to do these things, and we encourage you to come up with your own ideas!
Good luck, buddies~
