The story of Biras is...unique. In this world, and in others, there are anomalies. Things people can't quite yet understand. Those very few that know Biras well, know he is one such anomaly, though nobody but him truly knows what he is. And even then, he does not quite know the extent. All he knows, is he appeared to be nothing more than a babe during the corruption and subsequent destruction of the Sunwell, though in truth, he was much, much older. He had been one of the very few survivors during the Scourge invasion, although his extremely close proximity to it at the apex of Arthas' plan led to the Sunwell's energies being torn almost violently from the young boy. This left him with absolutely no connection to magic, unlike his kinsmen. When Kael'thas returned to the Sunwell to destroy it, he ended up finding the crying, screaming babe, and rescued him. In the following years, Biras began to age naturally - or rather, at a much faster rate, as he seemed to age quicker even than humans during these years. During this time, Biras was seen by many of the other Blood Elves as an abomination, something wrong, which caused him to live an isolated life. He did take solace in one thing, however: Kael'thas Sunstrider.
As Biras looked up to Kael'thas so much, who had saved his life and given him a home along side others of his kind, he tried for nothing more than to take the name of Sunstrider for his own, in his own mind if nothing else. Although his complete lack of magical affinity caused some dissension among those Biras stayed with, and eventually he was called by Kael'thas into an army - by this time, while he still appeared in his early teens, he had been spending nearly every waking moment training himself as an assassin - and left to die. While Biras managed to survive and even escape the encroaching Scourge that he had been sent to try and halt, he recognized a suicide mission when he saw one. It was at that point, Biras, who had been looking up to the prince as a father-figure, even loving him as such, had realized he couldn't truly trust anyone. Anything. And his quest of vengeance began.
Biras continued to grow, to train, and to hate. He kept the name of "Sunstrider" to his own, just to remind himself of what would happen if you trusted somebody, though it is more of a bitter joke than anything. He strived for nothing more than to eventually slay the man that had abandoned him in the wake of Death. Having trained himself from the point of his increased aging to be an assassin, he quickly started to make a name for himself - one that was spat around with great bitterness by those he had taken people from, to an extent of being wanted in most cities of both the Horde and Alliance. When the time came for the heroes of Azeroth to take the fight to Kael'thas, Biras was one of the first to sign up. While he himself was not amongst those that killed the Prince, his rage was not sated. The kill had been stolen from him.
After that, Biras met a young woman, whom he became close with, and who had high ties with authority in the cities of the Horde, and she managed to get his name cleared of all charges - so long as he kept it that way. To busy himself, rather than killing targets for coin, he began hunting items of great power. Namely, two large glaives he had heard to be hidden deep within the Black Temple. With many months spending most days searching through the place, he eventually managed to find them, though he found something else as well. A demon who had been waiting managed to nearly take the assassin's life. While Biras again managed to cheat death, he was left blinded, his face horrifically scarred across his eyes. Another friend of his, one kept at arm's length like all the rest, had found something. A blindfold, worn by a demon hunter.
As the injuries sustained during his fight with the nameless demon healed, Biras began to don the blindfold, another symbol of hatred, something else to be hunted down, something else that demanded revenge. In the most recent of months, something has happened to Biras, something he doesn't speak of often, if at all. Something that seems to have returned to him his connection to magic, and at the same time, a natural aging process. Among other things, this seems to have given the man - formerly an assassin, now partially a demon hunter to sate his need for vengeance - control of shadows, among other things. The extent of his newfound abilities are unknown, at least to most people. There is, however, one thing he has recently grown sure of:
The Night is coming, and people are going to need to embrace it.
